Woooooow, if this Mars-themed Red Rock Canyon State Park Engagement session could talk, it would say all the BEST things.
Jillian, a Wedding/Event Stationery Designer at Studio Soprano, and Zach, a SpaceX Manufacturing Engineer, had a hard time picking out the perfect engagement session location. They wanted it to be something within a distance of a Tesla supercharger but also resembled Mars. After throwing out some of our suggestions to them, they actually threw out a location we couldn’t believe we missed, Red Rock Canyon State Park! It was literally the *perfect spot* that met all of their criteria.
Once a date and time were solidified, we began all the logistics for permits! But then… RAIN. If you remember, there was a bomb cyclone coming from the northwest that doused the west coast in rain. So re-schedule it was! And everything worked in our favor. Permits were moved over, more outfits were purchased, and lots of tacos were eaten between the time of the original date and the re-scheduled date.
The day of the session went off without a hitch. We would do all engagement sessions at Red Rock Canyon State Park if we could. Though windy, we had so. much. fun. J + Z opted to go barefoot for a good amount of their session. They wished it was for a cool reason, but it was because they felt it didn’t match their first outfit. It definitely gave this laid-back and kick-ass feel for that portion of the day. For their picnic, J + Z brought homemade tacos. We adorned the blanket with their very own pillows from their couch, Zach’s lego Apollo and a record player obviously playing our shared favorite lady, Taylor Swift. Once we finished photographing, we popped a seat right next to them and enjoyed tacos, chats, and the stars.
